Vale Volunteering Policy
What is it?
This document expresses Vale and its partners’ commitment to stimulating and supporting volunteering. It defines the principles that guide the Vale Volunteers Program and the type of support that the volunteers can count on.
How was it developed?
Vale, through the Vale Foundation, drafted its Volunteering Policy during 2005, first with the input of the volunteers, who expressed their wishes and noted topics that they would like to see regulated. Only then was it drafted, submitted to different assessments in the company and approved. In Brazil there are no other known examples of a Volunteering Policy drafted in the same manner.
What is its purpose?
The Policy elevates the support to volunteering to the category of internal value for the Company, while providing clarity to the volunteers and company, defining responsibilities.
