International Volunteer Day
The International Volunteer Day for Social and Economic Development is celebrated on December 5. In the resolution that creates the International Volunteer Day, the UN General Assembly acknowledges the importance of volunteer work and invites all sectors of society – Governments, Non-Governmental Organizations, and Civil Society – to stimulate and disseminate the work of volunteers.
